about

Micah Rose is a feminist writer, director, and producer who frequently writes romantic teen comedies that feature strong, creative and confident young women. She wrote, produced and directed the award-winning short film, Flower (2012), about what it means to matter in this world.  She went on to write and direct I.O.U (2013), as well as produce That Night (2016). In addition, Micah Rose has directed and/or produced over 12,000 hours of live production with over a million views for the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, MO.

Spending her free time mentoring teens in the arts, it is many that inspire many of the characters she creates for film, stage, and screen. Observing the transitional stage of their life, Micah Rose is intrigued by how teens find themselves and in how they search for the "truth." In each of her works, it is the lessons of self-discovery that are at the core of her storytelling.

Micah Rose earned her Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Full Sail University and when she isn't writing, Micah Rose enjoys searching out interesting documentary films. It is her hope to one day dip her toe into the medium. She is currently working on the feature-length script, YOU, about a teen who embarks upon the journey of finding herself through her Twitter account. While she writes, she listens to the soundtrack of Hamilton: An American Musical on repeat.
